“ I visited with my daughter on a day out and she chose the Prince Rupert. What a wonderful pub with great food and lovely staff. Nothing was too much trouble and working in such hot weather, just took it in their stride. Well done ladies. If I lived in Newark, this would definitely be my local. 5 stars across the board. Good customer service is hard to come by these days and these ladies have perfected it, just a shame I don't know their names. ”

“ Great cozy pub with lots of history inside, the service was superb, all the staff were kind a friendly, ready to help with the menu. We were very well looked after and the food was absolutely sublime. I had the steak and ale pie, mum had steak and Stilton pie and my dad had the beef burger. All cooked beautifully and tasted amazing. And the wine selection was amazing too. Definitely recommend! ”
“ I can’t stop thinking about the Sunday roast beef! We chose to stop for lunch on our way through Newark and was treated to the most delicious Sunday lunch I’ve ever had! Everything was seasoned to perfection, the beef slightly pink. Cauliflower cheese side dish was definitely worth ordering. The staff were really welcoming and attentive and the pub itself has a lovely atmosphere. If I ever find myself in Newark, I won’t hesitate to stop here again. ”

“ Amazing find! We aren't local but stopped here on our journey through for Sunday lunch, Hubby had the 3 meats and I had the vegan Sunday lunch which was butternut squash Wellington. It was divine! Everything cooked to perfection for the both of us. The pub is dog friendly and very cosy. There's lots of vegan options on the menu which was nice to see. We will be back next time we're in Newark! ”
